Last Saturday in February
No one is too young to learn to fish in East Texas. Once a year, the City of Pittsburg and Texas Parks and Wildlife sponsor a fishing event just for kids. The City Park Pond on Texas Street is stocked with enough winter trout to provide hours of fishing fun. Kid's Fishing Day is the last Saturday in February and is open to children ages 16 and under. May
Get ready for live music, artisans, local foods and local wine at the Pittsburg Art & Wine Festival. It is $5 for entrance which gets you a souvenir glass for wine tastings and a reusable bag. All proceeds go to the Pittsburg Main Street Program to reinvest in Downtown.
May Thursday - Saturday Second Weekend
For great family entertainment, don't miss the annual rodeo. The rodeo is held every year in May on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. On Saturday morning, one of the highlights of the weekend is the "handicapable" rodeo.
2nd Saturday starting in May through the last Saturday in August
Local farmers set up an open air market on one of Pittsburg's downtown streets Saturdays from 8am until noon. Enjoy shopping for all your favorite fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh eggs from free range chickens, as well as, locally grown flowers and plants. Info: Chamber of Commerce 903-856-3442
July 4th
Light up the night at Pittsburg's traditional 4th of July celebration featuring food, fun and fireworks. One of the largest fireworks displays in the area is held at the Pittsburg Pirate football stadiu
3rd Saturday in September (with select Thurs - Fri events)
The streets of downtown Pittsburg will transform into an open-air marketplace in September as vendors from all over East Texas converge on the city for Pioneer Days. Dozens of vendors, including local merchants, churches and organizations, will offer a wide variety of handmade arts and crafts. The food vendors - most will be set up in the food court area along Tapp Street - will fill the air with the tantalizing aromas of festival favorites such as corn dogs, funnel cakes and nachos. The annual festival, named in honor of Pittsburg's pioneering spirit, is expected to draw thousands of people for not only shopping and food. There will be lots of activities to fill the day.Look for the Pioneer Days guide at the Chamber of Commerce booth, which will include the schedule of events and a map of the festival area.

Halloween
Super heroes, ghosts and goblins, witches and princesses all love trick or treating at the downtown businesses. They stay open late to offer treats in a safe environment to the kiddos. We've heard rumors of some pretty big kids dressing as parents taking part in the fun! Pittsburg blocks off their main street to offer this family friendly fun event! 1st Saturday in December
Christmas in Pittsburg includes Breakfast with Santa, the annual Christmas Parade and the Christmas Arts & Crafts Fair.
