3rd Saturday in September (with select Thurs - Fri events)
The streets of downtown Pittsburg will transform into an open-air marketplace in September as vendors from all over East Texas converge on the city for Pioneer Days. Dozens of vendors, including local merchants, churches and organizations, will offer a wide variety of handmade arts and crafts. The food vendors - most will be set up in the food court area along Tapp Street - will fill the air with the tantalizing aromas of festival favorites such as corn dogs, funnel cakes and nachos. The annual festival, named in honor of Pittsburg's pioneering spirit, is expected to draw thousands of people for not only shopping and food. There will be lots of activities to fill the day.Look for the Pioneer Days guide at the Chamber of Commerce booth, which will include the schedule of events and a map of the festival area.
